Lynn and Ben got married at The Round Chapel, Hackney. The beauty of choosing this venue was that it is five minutes from their front door!
The Round Chapel is truly stunning and the perfect place to enjoy a real North London wedding. The venue itself is vast: a huge central room that you are invited to use and personalise however you wish. Anyone looking for a DIY wedding in London would be hard pressed to find a better space. Ben and Lynn kept things fairly simple, but in doing so they celebrated the majesty of this incredible venue. They hired in chairs and tables, and slung some lovely festoon lighting between the balconies. Their flowers adorned the stage area and the tables, but everything else was untouched. You can see from my photo below that their choices created a clean, uncluttered, fabulous dinner and party space. The venue was changed round from the ceremony to the reception.
My day began with Lynn, her bridesmaids and her family. What a brilliant few hours: they were all on brilliant form; relaxed, fun and clearly relishing the day ahead. Lucky for me they were getting ready into hair and make up in a lovely, sunlit room.
Bridal prep is often my favourite time of the day. It is a chance to get to know the wedding party a little, hopefully establishing a good relationship with the bridesmaids for later in the day. When time is tight, especially when arranging the formal set-ups, the bridesmaids and groomsmen can often be a real help!
Photographing weddings is such an exciting way to spend a day: anything can change due to the weather, something going wrong, schedule mix ups etc. However, on this day the weather was gorgeous and Lynn and Ben had brought in their secret weapon: Andri.
Andri ran this day like a Swiss watch. Everything ran perfectly on time, all the moving parts of the wedding worked seamlessly, and no one ever felt rushed or harried. Andri was also extremely helpful to me - clearing out the main room so I could get a photo of The Round Chapel without lots of people in the frame. She was a joy and I couldn't recommend her more highly as a wedding planner.
She has worked at The Round Chapel a number of times so there is nobody better to guide you through your planning.
The Round Chapel in Hackney is an extraordinary place to get married. Right in the heart of Hackney, a Grade II listed chapel that you can personalise, all at a very competitive price? It's definitely worth a look...
